Hello, Anxiety is a vibrant, brain-based picture book that helps children understand what anxiety is, why it shows up, and how to face it with courage.
Through the relatable journey of Destiny Davis, young readers learn that bravery is not about never feeling nervous. It is about greeting those big feelings with curiosity and learning how to move forward, even when it is hard.
Perfect for classroom read-alouds, therapy sessions, or cozy moments at home, this story gives kids and their grown-ups a shared language for talking about fear, stress, and self-regulation. Backed by science and filled with heart, Hello, Anxiety empowers children to explore coping strategies, strengthen emotional awareness, and discover their own resilience.
Whether you are a teacher helping students through transitions or a parent supporting bedtime worries, Hello, Anxiety is a trusted resource for building calm, connection, and confidence in everyday moments.
Eager to build their child’s confidence and resilience, especially if they’ve struggled with anxiety themselves or are open to books that build emotional literacy, not just entertain.
Noticing increased worry, avoidance, perfectionism, or emotional outbursts in their students and want a gentle way to address them or enjoy read-alouds that support SEL goals without adding more prep work.
Committed to normalizing emotional experiences and reducing the stigma around anxiety and other big feelings and appreciate stories that open the door to deeper conversation and skill-building.
Ideal for transitions, new school jitters, and setting the stage for a safe, supportive learning environment.
With relatable language and vibrant illustrations, children begin to connect body sensations and thoughts to the emotion of anxiety. This helps build emotional literacy and self-awareness.
Hello, Anxiety teaches that anxiety is a natural brain response. Instead of trying to eliminate it, children, like Destiny, can learn to notice it and respond with curiosity and care.
Destiny models realistic, helpful tools like grounding techniques, movement, and calming self-talk. These strategies can be used throughout the day at home, in school, or in counseling settings.
Hello, Anxiety reassures kids that it is okay to feel anxious. At the same time, it encourages them to take small steps forward, helping them build confidence and resilience.
A great tool for those in the mental health but also a really good book for parents too. If you have kids or students who have big worry emotions, this book explains what happens in the brain when anxiety happens and gives coping skills to lessen the anxiety in kid-friendly language. All of this is wrapped up in a relatable story of a student giving a class presentation. I will definitely be using this with some of my students!

So thankful for author Jessica Sinarski for this book. An incredibly helpful tool, fits along really well with the others in the series but can be used independently. Every foster and adoptive parent, every school social worker, every child therapist should have this book. Goodness really every parent. I would suggest best for ages 7-12 depending on emotional development level.
